The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints emphasizes treating everyone with love, respect and kindness regardless of diverse beliefs and faith. This has been the Church’s stand even during the time of Joseph Smith Jr. We believe that each member of society has the liberty to choose to worship God and act upon the beliefs of his or her own choosing. It is the 11th Article of our Faith that “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may” (Articles of Faith 1:11).
The world is full of too much vile and ills. The world needs goodness and gentleness that we can all offer regardless of what doctrinal beliefs we want to follow. It does not require compromise of our beliefs. It only requires oneness in purpose and that is to be of service to our fellowmen. Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and leaders of other faiths have declared their unified purpose in serving humanity with love through Interfaith Relations Dialogue with other faiths.
