You are here to be tried, to prove yourself so that you can receive the additional blessings God has for you. The tempering effect of patience is required.

Some blessings will be delivered here in this life; others will come beyond the veil. The Lord is intent on your personal growth and development. That progress is accelerated when you willingly allow Him to lead you through every growth experience you encounter, whether initially it be to your individual liking or not.

When you trust in the Lord, when you are willing to let your heart and your mind be centered in His will, when you ask to be led by the Spirit to do His will, you are assured of the greatest happiness along the way and the most fulfilling attainment from this mortal experience.

If you question everything you are asked to do, or dig in your heels at every unpleasant challenge, you make it harder for the Lord to bless you.

Your agency, the right to make choices, is not given so that you can get what you want. This divine gift is provided so that you will choose what your Father in Heaven wants for you. That way He can lead you to become all that He intends you to be. That path leads to glorious joy and happiness.

Stereotypically, women tend to express their feelings verbally more often, while men can sometimes struggle to express their feelings out loud. As a result, misunderstandings can arise within marriage. But how can you know if your spouse is trying to show affection in other ways? Here are 5 of the sweetest ways husbands can say “I love you,” even if they’re not using words.

When it comes to marriage, there are a lot of red flags that we need to watch out for. However, we also need to be sensitive to the yellow blinking lights – the not-so-apparent things that we do that might collectively form a wrecking ball that damages our relationship. Cheating is not just having an illicit sexual affair. Spouses can cheat in even little ways that are sometimes considered trivial.

Much like climbing a mountain requires preparation before and endurance and perseverance during ascent, so too will this journey require real effort and sacrifice. True Christianity, in which we strive to become like our Master, has always required our best efforts.

Now a brief word of caution. The commandment to be like Him is not intended to make you feel guilty, unworthy, or unloved. Our entire mortal experience is about progression, trying, failing, and succeeding.

You are good enough, you are loved, but that does not mean that you are yet complete. There is work to be done in this life and the next. Only with His divine help can we all progress toward becoming like Him.

If you’re acquainted with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you may have heard them say they want to marry in the temple for time and all eternity, or they want to have an eternal marriage.

You may wonder “What does it even mean to be married for time and all eternity? Does it make a difference where you’re married?” To members of the Church of Jesus Christ, being sealed together for time and all eternity is the best gift one can receive in this mortal life.
