I was 18 years old when I first met the missionaries. At first I was hesitant to listen to their discussions until I got baptized 21 years ago. I became very active in the church, received different callings and enjoyed Young Single Adults activities.

When I turned 21 years old, I had a desire to serve as a full-time missionary in the field. Unfortunately my parents didn't want me to go especially my mom at first. I was so disappointed, being the only member of my family. They didn't know why I needed to go away to teach the gospel to other people. And being the only member was quite challenging but I never gave up.

Five years later, finally my mom said yes to me so I let her sign my application form for mission. Two months after I received my mission call, my mom was rushed to the hospital. She had a heart attack and I was so worried about her, because she was at the ICU ( Intensive Care Unit ) at that time.

I continued reporting to the MTC ( Missionary Training Center ) even though my mom was still at the hospital. At first she was in the ICU and then before I left to go on my mission she was transferred to a hospital bed.

Being at the MTC I was quite emotional. Seventeen days later my mom passed away. I felt so sad but I decided not to go home to be at her funeral because I was afraid that my dad and my siblings might not want me to continue my mission. I still needed to be strong. I loved my mom a lot but I knew that she would have understood my decision not to come home for the last time.

In 3 Nephi 13:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. These scripture passages strengthens my faith in continuing serving Heavenly Father with all my heart and strength.

After my mission I did my mom's temple baptism and some of my dead ancestors. I volunteered myself to work as an temple ordinance worker in Cebu Temple. Through my example my two sisters, two nephews, two nieces also accepted the gospel. I got married in Phils. Cebu Temple and I am now living in Ireland with my husband.

I know that Heavenly Father lives and he loves us. He is just right there if you need him. I would never be the person today without the help of the gospel. The gospel changed my life a lot. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I believe President Nelson to be a prophet of God. I also believe that families can be together forever. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

God is our refuge. He is our source of strength and comfort. He is our only hope. He can heal us from our physical weakness.

One of the best ways for us to improve our performance at something is to look back and think about what we could have done better. And as we look forward and face a life full of choices, we might want to look back at our failures and consider how we can bounce back. Here are some tips to do just that.
